New Horizon Europe Energy calls published
The European Commission has published two new calls for Horizon Europe. The calls belong to the Horizon Europe Energy programme (cluster 5). A total grant budget of over € 188 million has been made available for the two calls. Applications can be submitted until 4 February 2025.
New Horizon Europe Energy calls
To achieve the European goal of climate neutrality by 2050, the European Commission has published new calls within the Horizon Europe programme. Both calls focus on cluster 5: Climate, Energy, and Mobility, with different focus areas. Collectively, a budget of € 188,600,000 is available for applications. The budget is divided as follows:
- Call 1 Sustainable, secure, and competitive energy supply: € 138.6 million
- Call 2 Efficient, sustainable, and inclusive energy use: € 50 million
Call 1 has 13 topics, call 2 has 5 topics. For both calls, the deadline for submitting applications is 4 February 2025.
Horizon Europe Programme
The Horizon Europe programme consists of six clusters and is a major EU funding programme. € 95.5 billion has been allocated to stimulate research and innovation.
Cluster 5: Climate, energy and mobility
Cluster Five focuses on Climate, Energy, and Mobility. Within this cluster, it focuses on climate-focused research and innovations to control climate change. To achieve this, it is necessary to make the energy and transport sectors more efficient, smarter, and environmentally friendly.
