New CEF Energy 2024 call has been launched
CINEA launched a new CEF Energy call for cross-border European Energy Infrastructure Projects. This call for proposals is in alignment with the revised TEN-E (Trans-European Network – Energy) Regulation (EU) 2022/869, targeting projects categorized under the Union list of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs). CEF Energy proposals can be submitted from 30 April until 22 October 2024.
Budget and eligible projects CEF Energy 2024
The CEF Energy call 2024 allocates € 850 million from the EU budget to jointly support studies and projects for both Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs).
Projects of Common Interest
Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) are pivotal infrastructure endeavors aimed at bolstering the European energy market, thereby advancing the EU’s energy policy and climate aspirations. Your project must align with European energy objectives, foster competition, and exert a substantial market impact spanning at least two European countries.
Projects of Mutual Interest
Projects of Mutual Interest (PMIs) represent crucial cross-border energy infrastructure initiatives connecting the EU with non-EU countries. These projects play a pivotal role in advancing the energy and climate policy goals of the Union.
New eligible topics in 2024
Expanding beyond traditional sectors like electricity, smart grids, and CO2 networks, this year’s call extends funding opportunities to encompass emerging areas such as hydrogen, electrolysers, and offshore projects in the most recent PCI and PMI list. This broadened scope underscores the EU’s commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability within the energy landscape.
