LIFE calls expected to open on 24 April 2025
On 24 April 2025, the new LIFE calls for 2025 are expected to be published. Several types of organisations can use this opportunity to invest in sustainability projects focused on the environment, climate, and nature, contributing to European nature and environmental policy. Some deadlines are already known, but they may still be subject to change.
LIFE grant in 2025
LIFE funding is the primary European grant scheme focusing on the development and implementation of European nature and environmental policy. There are four focus areas within LIFE funding, which will again be adhered to in 2025:
- Nature and biodiversity (SAP call)
- Circular economy and quality of life (SAP call)
- Climate mitigation and adaptation (SAP call)
- Renewable energy transition (CSA call)
Within each focus area, various calls are published for projects that invest in developments falling under these categories.
Expected deadlines in 2025
Currently, deadlines for the different focus areas have already been released, although these are provisional. The final deadlines for the various calls are expected to be published on 24 April 2025. The provisional deadlines are:
- Standard Action Projects (SAP): 23 September 2025
- Coordination and Support Actions (CSA): 23 September 2025
- Strategic Integrated Projects (SNAP/SIP):
- Concept Notes: 4 September 2025
- Full proposals: 5 March 2026
- LIFE Preparatory Projects (PLP): 23 September 2025
