Horizon Europe Cluster 5: Climate, Energy and Mobility projects in 2025
The European Commission has published the draft version of the new Horizon Europe: Climate, Energy and Mobility (Cluster 5) work programme in 2025. This grant scheme enables researchers, companies, and governments to realise innovation projects that contribute to reducing and preventing climate change. Some details are already known, but the full work programme is expected to be published in April 2025. An information day will be held to further clarify the 2025 work programme. Registration for this event is open until 31 March 2025.
Horizon Europe: Climate, Energy and Mobility in 2025
For the Horizon Europe: Climate, Energy and Mobility (Cluster 5) programme in 2025, a budget of € 1.2 billion has been allocated. This budget will be invested in projects that contribute to the European goal of being climate-neutral by 2050. The Horizon Europe Cluster 5 work programme is expected to be published in April 2025.
Call Topics
Innovative solutions that contribute to accelerating the transition to a green and digital economy may be eligible for the Horizon Europe Cluster 5 programme. In the preliminary work programme, five key destinations have been formulated that are of critical priority in the areas of climate, energy, and mobility, under which several calls will be published:
- Clean Transport (4 September 2025)
- Smart Mobility (4 September 2025)
- Energy Supply (16 September 2025)
- Cross-sectoral Solutions for Climate Transition (16 September 2025 / 24 September 2025)
- Climate Neutrality (24 September 2025)
Currently, the deadlines for all five destinations are set for September. Therefore, it is important to start your collaboration and preparation in good time. Please remember that this information is subject to change until the entire work programme is published.
Information Day
On 6 May 2025, an information day will be held, both in Brussels and online. During this event, the research and innovation topics for the 2025 work programme will be announced, and more information regarding the funding scheme will be provided.
