Apply for CEF Energy funding for trans-European energy projects

The European Commission has launched a new CEF Energy call for 2021. Are you working on a project that can improve the trans-European energy infrastructure? Find out whether this call and your project are a match. Project proposals can be submitted until 19 October 2021!

Projects eligible for CEF Energy 2021

Study and work projects aimed at innovations within the European energy infrastructure can be eligible for funding from CEF Energy. Your project supports large-scale supply of energy from renewable source and offers a valuable contribution in ensuring a constant energy supply. This way, the programme, and so also your project, responds to the European Green Deal as well as the transition to a climate-neutral economy.

Please note: to be eligible for funding, your project must be on the European list of ‘Projects of Common Interest’ (PCI). This means that your project must have a significant impact on the market of at least two European countries, increase competition and contribute to the policy objectives of the European Union in the field of energy.

CEF Energy budgets

This first call for proposals has a budget of € 785 million. The entire CEF Energy work programme 2021 – 2027 has a budget of approximately € 5.83 billion.
