The Dutch NWO Talent Programme offers personal grants (Veni, Vidi, Vici) to talented, creative researchers who engage in innovative research. The funding enables applicants to do their own line of research. This boosts innovative research and promotes mobility within scientific research institutes.
Who can apply for Veni, Vidi, Vici?
Are you a talented researcher with pioneering vision and are you involved in a state-of-the-art research project? The Innovational Research Incentives Scheme offers three types of grants for every stage in a researcher’s scientific career:
- VENI | for researchers who have recently obtained their PhD. A Veni grant amounts up to € 320.000,- per applicant.
- VIDI | for researchers who have gained several years of research experience after their PhD. A Vidi grant amounts up to € 850.000,- per applicant.
- VICI | for senior researchers who have demonstrated an ability to develop their own line of research. A Vici grant amounts up to € 1.5 million.
The application comprises 2 stages. There is first a pre-notification consisting of:
- An evidence-based CV
- Description key output
- Brief research idea
Experts in enhancing your grant application | Proposal review
The specialists of Hezelburcht regularly review personal grant proposals such as the Dutch Veni, Vidi and Vici grants. Moreover, we also support researchers with their proposals for the European Research Council (ERC) calls. Read more about it here. Our role is to make sure that the ideas of the researcher are described clearly, understandably and in a structured manner. We do this by reviewing the text and commenting on how it could be improved. In this way, we ensure that the proposal fits perfectly with what the evaluators expect to read.
